The West Bengal Co-operative Societies Act, 1983, along with the West Bengal Co-operative Societies Rules, 1987, came into effect on and from the 1st day of August, 1987 by virtue of G.O. No. 3141-Coop. dated 30/07/1987. Under sub-section (1) of Section 38 of the said Act, the Government of West Bengal was empowered to constitute a Co-operative Service Commission and appoint “a person who has been or is a Judge of the High Court at Calcutta or a person who holds or has held a post not below the rank of a Secretary to the State Government” its Chairman for a term of three years, provided that “the State Government may extend the term of his office for a period not exceeding one year”.

Educational Qualification:

Assistant Manager (Grade-IIA) – The Candidate should be passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline or B.E./B.Tech (C.S./I.T.) + MCA (3 year full time regular course) + Adequate knowledge in Networking and DBMS (Preferably Oracle/MS SQL), working experience with exposure in Bank will be preferable
Manager – The Candidates should be passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline. Certificate course in Financial Accounting System and 1-year experience as Manager/Accountant/Salesman in any Co-operative Society will be preferable
Lower Division Assistant – Candidate should passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline + BCK
Officer Scale-I – The Candidate should be passed B.E./B.Tech. (Computer Science & Engineering / Information Technology) or Master of Computer Applications + Knowledge of Financial Accounting
Computer/Cash Clerk – Should be passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline + BCK
Junior Assistant – Should be passed Higher Secondary + BCK
Chief Marketing Officer – Passed Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline + BCK + MBA ( preferably in Marketing)+Minimum 2 years’ experience as sales and Marketing Manager in Textile or Handloom Sector.

Pay Scale:

Assistant Manager (Grade-IIA) – Rs. 30,305/- per month
Manager – Rs. 8,000/- per month
Lower Division Assistant – Rs. 16,462/- per month
Officer Scale-I – Rs. 14,479/- per month
Computer/Cash Clerk – Rs. 12,978/- per month
Junior Assistant – Rs. 14,764/- per month
Chief Marketing Officer – Rs. 26,020/- per month

Application Fee:

An Application Fee of Rs. 160.00/- (Rupees one hundred and sixty) only, payable only by UR /OBC/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates.
