Company Profile:
The first railway on Indian sub-continent ran over a stretch of 21 miles from Bombay to Thane. The idea of a railway to connect Bombay with Thane, Kalyan and with the Thal and Bhore Ghats inclines first occurred to Mr. George Clark, the Chief Engineer of the Bombay Government, during a visit to Bhandup in 1843.
The formal inauguration ceremony was performed on 16th April 1853, when 14 railway carriages carrying about 400 guests left Bori Bunder at 3.30 pm "amidst the loud applause of a vast multitude and to the salute of 21 guns." The first passenger train steamed out of Howrah station destined for Hooghly, a distance of 24 miles, on 15th August, 1854. Thus the first section of the East Indian Railway was opened to public traffic, inaugurating the beginning of railway transport on the Eastern side of the subcontinent.

Age: Candidates age limit should be 18 – 30 years as on 01-01-2015. Age relaxation will be applicable as per rules.
Qualification: Candidates should possess Matriculation or equivalent examination with 50% marks or higher qualification from any recognized board/ university, degree/ diploma certificate in specified stream from govt recognized institution, experience in the field of & performances given on AIR/ Doordarshan etc, prizes at National Level.
Application Fee:
Candidates should pay Rs.100/- through a crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of Chairman, Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway, Allahabad payable at Allahabad. Candidates should write their Name and Address on the IPO.
How to Apply:
1. The application should be sent through proper channel i.e. concerned officer incharge of Personnel Department only which should reach from the offices of Senior Subordinates/Field Units latest by 21.12.2013. Applications received through any other mode without proper channel will not be entertained.
2. Personnel Department of Divisions/Units will scrutinize the eligibility of applications received and will certify the service particulars filled in application form from the Service Record/Personal File of the employee concerned and will forward all the applications received against notification with a list so as to reach through Special Messenger to SPO/HQ in the Office of General Manager (P), North Central Railway, Allahabad, latest by 18:00 hrs on or before 31.12.2013.
3. The filled in application along with the required documents should be addressed to the Senior Personnel Officer (HQ), CPO’s Office, North Central Railway, Subedarganj, Allahabad – 211033 (U.P.).
4. In terms of Railway Board’s letter No. E(RRB)/2001/25/31 dated 29.09.2005 (RBE No. 164/2005), applications from serving staff in response to notifications for GDCE issued by RRBs, advance copy of application may be entertained by RRBs.
