Recruitment Details
Name of Post: District Judge
No of Posts: 55 posts (24 Regular + 31 ad-hoc)
Qualification:
- Candidate must possess a Degree in Law from a University recognized by law in India.
- Candidate must be a practicing Advocate in Courts of Civil & Criminal jurisdiction.
- Candidate must possess Basic Knowledge of Computer Application / Operation
Pay Scale: Rs. 51650-1240-59090-1390-63260/- + Allowances
Age Limit: Candidates those who are eligible for these vacancies age should be 35 years to 48 years as on 31st October 2014 & age relaxation is applicable to all reserved category candidates
Selection Procedure:
- Preliminary Examination (Elimination Test) – Based on ‘Computer Based (Online) Examination System’ shall consist of 2 Papers – (each of 100 Marks & 2 Hours’ duration), based on the following Syllabus.
- Main Written Examination (Descriptive Type) – shall consist of Two Papers – (each of 100 Marks & 3 Hours’ duration)
- Viva – voce (Personal Interview) – 50 Marks, The object of the Viva-Voce is to assess the suitability of the candidate for the cadre by judging the mental alertness, knowledge of law, clear and logical exposition, balance of judgment, skills, attitude, ethics, power of assimilation.
Application Fee:
- Rs.1000/- + Bank Charges – General Candidates;
- Rs.500/- + Bank Charges – SC/ ST/ Educationally Backward Classes, PWD & Ex-Servicemen Category Candidates.

The candidates making payment of Fees, shall remit the same, in Current Bank Account No. 30725811785 with the State Bank of India, High Court Complex Branch, Sola, Ahmadabad, held in the name of Registrar, High Court of Gujarat, through any of the Core Banking Service Branches of the State Bank of India, using the Cash Voucher in the Special Format.
